When agreeing a contract with your supplier
you should agree a completion date. Put it in writing and
include the term 'Time is of the essence.' This shows that
the completion of work on time is an important factor. It
also gives you legal rights if there are delays.
If your supplier is not providing a timely
service you can:
- Write and set a date
for completion.
- State again that 'time
is of the essence'.
If the work is not completed within the time
scale you can then use another company to complete the work and
claim the costs from the original supplier.
Before you do this get further advice from an advice centre such
as Citizens Advice Bureau.
